About Us

We are a team of engineers specialising in hydraulic systems design, optimisation, and troubleshooting across various industries.

  • Mining, marine, oil and gas and agricultural industries

  • Open loop, closed loop, and semi closed loop

In recent years, our focus has been on one critical aspect — system reliability. This factor defines the roadmap for component selection and design, influences budgeting decisions, and ultimately determines long-term performance.

Reliability depends on many parameters —

  • Duty cycle
  • Operating pressure
  • Contamination sensitivity
  • Life expectancy
  • Cost of downtime
  • Safety
  • Environmental conditions
  • Ease of repair

The key question is: What level of reliability does your system require? Should your system use a simple gear pump or a high-performance piston pump? Do you need proportional valves, standby pumps, or additional sensors? Every design choice affects reliability, complexity, and cost.

Just like choosing how to travel — whether walking, driving, taking public transport, or riding — the best time to decide your path is before you start the journey, as it may be too late to change direction midway. Such changes can be costly or even impossible.

In other words, the design stage of a project is the best time to address these questions. Once in operation, changes may no longer be cost-effective over the remaining life cycle, and you may have to operate and maintain an unreliable system for years — or rely on alternative strategies. Redesigning the system later is often neither practical nor economical.

At HJ Fluid Power, we believe that reliability and efficiency are built in during design — not added later.
